Sunday 24 April 2022, De Slotplaats, Bakkeveen, Province Friesland, appox 5.7km through an area managed by Natuurmonumenten. On the other side of Bakkeveen – refering to yesterdays hike below – is an old estate De Slotplaats offering some easy walks, again through a varied landscape including some history (ancient fortifications and estate history) and scenic fens surrounded by pine trees reminding us of Scandinavia.
