January 15th, 2006, Route 27, Schoklandroute, 10 km, Relatively easy walk in a historical relevant around Schokland, which until early in the 20th century was an island in the ‘Zuiderzee’. It can still be recognized as such, although it is now surrounded by ‘the new land’ of the Noordoostpolder. Rightfully an area of importance recognized by Unesco. We used a small plane to have an initial look from above, followed by the actual walk…An easy trail, but due to the many interesting and significant landmarks it will most likely take you more than the regular 2 hours for an 10 km trail…
