Surprisingly ´green´ walk in and around the ´green´ city of Emmen in the north of the Netherlands in the province Drenthe. en in province Drenthe. This area was threatened by sand dunes in the 19th century. The sand was ´fixed´ by planting many fir trees and now provides an excellent habitat for a variety of animals and plants. Much older are the historically interesting dolmes ‘hunebedden’ along the way… And if you do have some time left don´t pass the famous Emmen ZOO: ‘Noorderdierenpark’ without a visit!
