Monday 5 March 2012. route 97 ‘Wandelboek’, 7 km, “Brunsummerheide route near Heerlen (Limburg). Extremely nice walk taking you through the heath (moorland) near Heerlen. Many trails, great well equipped visitors center with a restaurant and terraces providing you with great views. Can be very crowded, but – as usual – once your some distance from the parking no problem to ‘be alone’… Quite an interesting area for geologists and a large ‘silver sand’ quarry provides for a landmark that cannot be overlooked..
